3 girls, 3 countries, 3 languages and 1 common goal
We are one of the few multicultural, international teams on this Raid. We have met at work, at various HR/international events. Although we don't work in the same office or country, we get on really well and have things in common like for example developing others and of course traveling and sports.
Karina, Belgian, living in Paris. I have always been quite sporty during my life, and always ready for a trip far or close. I heard from Raid Amazones two years ago and it has been spinning around in my head till the right moment was there...November 2014! I am sure I gathered the right team members to take this adventure! Raid Amazones is for me an ideal combination of traveling, doing sports, discovering new experiences and also an opportunity to test my physical limits and mental strongness.
Marta, Spaning, living in Brighton (UK). When I heard about this amazing adventure to represent the EDF HR international team at the Raid, I got really excited. The experience to date has been very inspiring and a great motivator to get fit. I cannot wait to go through the different challenges in Cambodia to check my resilience, my motivation and team work experience. i am sure I won't forget the Raid.
Aldona, Polish, living in Warsaw. I love traveling and discovering new places. I have already been to Cambodia and was sightseeing the beauty of that region, so this time it is a 100% sport adventure for me. I have been practising fitness classes since a year and a half, however last 3 months of training allowed me to move "sportiness" a level up - I started running. "I am very happy to be able to participate in this raid. When I was in Cambodia a few years ago, I said to myself that I wanted to be back there one day to admire this county's wildness and beauty again. Well, I was invited to be part of Bright Light team 58 by Karina - our team leader and my wish is coming true. Thanks!!"
Why we participate in this raid? People ask us why we would do it. Participation in this raid is something more than experiencing a regular sport event. It is more about solidarity and cooperation. These are values we strongly believe in. Moving beyond own's possibilities in a spirit of trust, team work is something we wish to experience.
Be with us, watch how we are able to complete this raid succesfullly! Please keep your fingers crossed for our team and our safety during the race!
We want to raise some money for charity as part of this project, so we have chosen Institut Marie Curie, both in France and in UK, and we would like to ask for your support to help progress cancer research by donating via this link : www.alvarum.com
We already want to thank our boyfriends/husband, family and friends to support us in this preparation phase!
